At the cliff house, Steffy didn't get it that Liam wouldn't even return home and try. As she whimpered, Wyatt hugged her. He reasoned that she might be misinterpreting Liam's text message, and saying one wasn't going to show up didn't mean the person didn't want to. Steffy replied that Wyatt was trying to make her feel better, but they both knew Liam just didn't want her anymore.

Wyatt called Liam an idiot because nothing in the world would keep Wyatt away. He hated what Liam was doing to her. Steffy decided it had been a mistake to even return from Paris. He replied that she'd gotten to know him because of it, and that was worth any breakup with his brother.

Steffy reluctantly laughed. Wyatt got an idea about how to take Steffy's mind off things. Steffy was uncertain, but he told her to trust him. He grabbed her hand and led her toward the front door.

Later, Wyatt and Steffy were on the beach in beach clothes. He urged her to give one afternoon with him a shot and guaranteed that it would change her life.

Music played as the bikini-clad Steffy lotioned up and stretched out on a pallet. A drone flew overhead. She spotted Wyatt controlling it nearby. She rushed at him, and they fought for control of it until it flew off. Next, the pair tossed around a football, and Steffy did a touchdown dance. They strolled along the beach. Wyatt took her hand as they walked along then they hugged.

Later, Wyatt and Steffy surfed together. Afterward, the jubilant Steffy told Wyatt that he'd known exactly what she'd needed. They peeled off their wet suits, and Wyatt named off world beaches that they needed to hit. Steffy said she'd go anywhere, as long as it wasn't Australia.

Wyatt couldn't believe Steffy had said it. Steffy added that she'd done it with a smile on her face, too. She thanked him for making her laugh and enjoy herself again. He said she deserved it. He cupped her face, and they passionately kissed.

At Spencer, Brooke proposed that she and Liam do a joint "handing of the torch" letter from the editors. She wanted to include Liam and make sure he didn't feel marginalized. Bill couldn't concentrate, and she assumed he was still worried about Liam. Brooke advised him to reach out to Liam and let him know that his father was there for him and he had his father's support.

At her cabin, Quinn perused the Internet for information about Liam's condition. She dialed 9-1-1 but clicked off the call before it connected. She checked Liam's phone, which had no reply from Steffy. Quinn told the unconscious Liam that he'd one day be glad about how she'd handled things.

Liam's phone rang. It was Bill calling. Quinn sent the call to voicemail and texted "Can't talk now" to Bill. Liam stirred and grunted, but he didn't wake up. Quinn searched the Internet for local hospitals. Frustrated, she tried clapping at Liam and shaking him, but nothing worked.

Quinn commanded Liam to awaken. Her eyes widened when he groggily stirred. Liam's vision was blurry as she saw Quinn hovering over him. She welcomed him to the land of the living, and his eyes rolled back. She asked how he was feeling. He struggled and murmured.

Liam's head rolled back on the pillow, but Quinn urged him to stay with her. He panted and strained to focus. She relayed that she hadn't know what to do when he'd collapsed in the parking lot. She claimed she hadn't thought he'd wanted the fuss of a hospital.

Quinn asked how many fingers she held up. Liam answered correctly, though he was still dazed. She said it proved he was just fine and didn't need a hospital. "Hospital..." Liam murmured. Quinn said he'd be fine, and she'd take good care of him. She placed her hand on his chest. The cockeyed Liam grasped her hand, and with great effort, he pulled it to his mouth and kissed it.

Quinn frowned as if disgusted, offended, puzzled -- or a combination of the three.

Back in Bill's office, Bill didn't know how to respond to "Liam's" text message. He decided he'd just wait. Brooke believed that his son would contact him in time. Bill wondered if it would be too late and if it would be after Liam had convinced himself that he was done with Steffy.

Brooke replied that Bill would, at that point, just be there for Liam, because breakups were a reality. Bill reasoned that, sometimes, someone should step in and say, "You should fight for this."

Blinking in thought, Brooke added, "Like I did with you and Katie...Look at where I am now. I'm working for the both of you. It's a dream come true," she said.

Bill stared at Brooke and fantasized. In the fantasy, he walked around the desk, pulled her into a passionate kiss, and pushed her back onto the desk. Brooke looked at Bill expectantly.

Bill snapped out of it and said dreams did sometimes become true. Brooke believed that she'd been going through the motions at Forrester, but there were many possibilities for her at Spencer.

Bill grew serious as he said Brooke's name. "Yes?" Brooke responded.

Bill admitted to Brooke that when he'd said he hadn't given past feelings a second thought, he'd been lying. He confessed that the feelings were still there for him, too. Disconcerted, Brooke hopped up to leave. She said they didn't need to be talking about or thinking about it.

Bill grabbed Brooke's arm and turned her to face him. He said he'd thought of everything Brooke had said about missing him and missing them. He missed her, too. Upset, Brooke told him that they had to be careful because they could never go there. She was sorry for ever telling him how she felt and told him that he had to forget it.

Brooke believed that her confession had been stupid. "Even if it's the truth? Even though I feel the same way?" Bill asked. Brooke exclaimed that he was married to her sister. He said that he knew. Brooke declared that nothing could happen. He stated that he knew. She decided that they would forget it and never think of it -- ever again. ewwww i can't stand the thought of that wienie wyatt with Steffy!Same stuff no wonder it was easy to stop watching two months ago.

Jan 29 Soap central

At Quinn's cabin, Liam had the distinct feeling that someone needed him. Quinn figured that he needed some soup. She rushed off to order takeout from a Japanese restaurant.

Later, Quinn lowered a tray with the soup over Liam's lap. Liam struggled with the spoon, and she asked if he needed help. "Maybe," Liam responded. She placed her hand over his and helped him ease it to his mouth. Liam thanked her and said she was "so nice" to him. Quinn disingenuously responded that she liked taking care of people. Liam could tell and told her that she had kind eyes.

As Liam ate, he couldn't shake "the feeling." Quinn assumed that it was a feeling that he'd forgotten something, and she assured him that he'd remember. He replied that it wasn't a something. It was someone. Liam tried to get up, believing that he should leave.

Quinn asked Liam where he'd go. Liam didn't know -- maybe to where he belonged. She wondered how he knew he didn't belong there and that she wasn't the one who needed him. Smiling, Liam said he didn't know who he was or where he was, but he at least felt safe. It was like being in the arms of an angel. He kissed her cheek. Quinn frowned and touched her cheek.

At Wyatt's place, Steffy was leery of the motorbike Wyatt had gotten. She didn't think she was ready for it. Wyatt believed that she was, and he said it was an important step in moving on. He retrieved some helmets and said it was time to go. She responded that she hadn't ridden since the accident. Wyatt cited the way Liam had been treating her and asked if it was time to close the chapter.

Steffy noted that Wyatt had a helmet, too. Wyatt indicated that he had a bike out back. She agreed to ride the bike but said she needed to do it on her own.

Music played as Steffy cruised down a beach access road reminiscent of the back road she'd taken when she'd had her accident. Steffy arrived back at Wyatt's house. She hopped off the bike and into his arms, gratefully thanking him. He told her that they could sell the bike, but she said not to. She didn't know how he'd figured out that she'd needed it, but she really, really had needed it.

Inside the house, Steffy said she hadn't believed she'd ever ride again, but being back on a bike and facing her fears had relieved a lot of guilt. She felt it was thanks to Wyatt understanding her and being there for her. Wyatt said he always would be, and they kissed. He felt that meeting his past girlfriends' needs had been like a guessing game, but understanding Steffy was natural to him.

Wyatt believed that he could see what Steffy needed, and he could deliver it. Steffy asserted that he did deliver -- more than he knew. She said he was a man who followed through and asked if he knew how unique it was and what it meant to her. Wyatt and Steffy kissed again.

Steffy pulled back and said she couldn't do it. Wyatt guessed it was because of his brother. "Wow," he murmured. Steffy knew that he didn't want to hear it. Wyatt understood it, but he didn't want to do "that" again. Steffy assumed he meant falling for someone with feelings for Liam, but Wyatt had meant falling for someone who didn't see that she deserved more than Liam.

"I do!" Steffy replied. She knew she hadn't deserved Liam leaving her, but she was still trying to figure out why. She didn't know how to believe it. Wyatt indicated that he wanted to help her. "Let Liam go," Wyatt uttered. They kissed again more passionately.

At Spencer, Bill flashed back to Katie saying she'd never let Brooke have him. Eric appeared in the doorway and told Bill that they needed to talk about Brooke. Bill fixed him a drink and filled Eric in on how Katie wanted to cut Brooke out of her life forever. Bill didn't think it was what Katie needed, but she was in too much pain to see it.

Eric told Bill to make Katie see before it was too late. Though Bill was just as concerned as Eric, Bill indicated that there was only so much he could do. Bill had a wife and family to focus on. They were Bill's priority. Eric stated that if Bill really meant it, they wouldn't be where they were at that point.

"Excuse me?" Bill replied. Eric didn't believe that Brooke's feelings were one-sided or that there hadn't been some sort of signal from Bill. Eric had loved Brooke for a long time and said that feelings like those never went away.

At Brooke's house, Katie arrived in the kitchen. Surprised, Brooke offered to make tea. Katie slapped down an envelope and said she wouldn't be there long. In the envelope was Brooke's voided contract. Katie suggested that Brooke talk to Alison about retrieving belongings because reentering the Spencer building was out of the question. Katie said Brooke was no longer welcome at Spencer, near Katie's son, and certainly not near Katie's husband.

Katie said she wouldn't make the mistake of letting Brooke circle or letting Brooke in. Brooke replied that she'd stay away. Katie stated that Brooke had been biding her time. Brooke replied that she'd hidden her feelings for Katie's sake and had believed that enough time could pass. Brooke guessed she'd been naïve. Katie replied that Brooke hadn't been the only one.

Katie wondered how their mother would feel or what she would say. Katie moved on to Storm, who'd sacrificed his life for them. She asked if Brooke was laughing in his face. Katie cited Stephanie, who'd fought Brooke for years and said Stephanie had known who Brooke was. Katie declared that she'd fight just as hard, if not harder, than Stephanie to keep Brooke away from Katie's family.

Katie believed that Brooke hurt everyone she had contact with, and she wouldn't waste a single moment on Brooke. She felt that no one mattered as long as Brooke got what she wanted. Brooke exclaimed that it wasn't true, and she'd struggled with her feeling because she did care.

Katie no longer believed in Brooke. Katie called Brooke a myth, like the tooth fairy, that their mother had made up, and Katie had believed in her for too long. Kate said that Brooke's need to have every man as a conquest was pathological, and Brooke couldn't be saved because she was sick.

Brooke didn't think Katie meant it. Katie stated that Stephanie had many words for Brooke, and they'd all meant the same thing -- that Brooke was sick. Brooke turned her back to Katie. "And cue the tears!" Katie yelled. She ordered Brooke not to put on a show for her.

Brooke said she wasn't doing it; she just didn't believe it had gotten to that point. Katie said it was because everything was always about how Brooke felt. Katie exclaimed that Bill was married to her, and it was her life. Katie said that Brooke couldn't just take any man because Daddy had left her behind, and Katie proclaimed that Bill loved Will and Katie.

Brooke claimed to know that and asked the huffing Katie if she was okay. Katie braced herself against the counter. Brooke tried to assist Katie, but Katie slapped Brooke and said not to touch her. Brooke asked if Katie was okay. Katie moved away, and leaning on the table, indicated that she was.

Brooke asked if slapping her had helped. Katie told Brooke not to talk to her as if she was three years old. Brooke said that Katie's hatred hurt. Katie was sorry she wasn't playing the oblivious, doting wife. Brooke stated that she'd wanted to stay away, but Katie had kept convincing her to take the job. Katie sarcastically agreed that it was all her fault.

Brooke asked Katie to understand that Brooke had closed herself up in her house and had started drinking to try to cut off the feelings because she'd known she had to do right by her sister, who she loved. Kati said the words didn't mean anything, and Brooke only knew how to do right by herself.

Katie grabbed her things to go. She said that she hadn't wanted to do it, but she needed Brooke to stay away. Brooke said that she would, but she was there if Katie ever needed her. Katie replied that she wouldn't need Brooke, not ever again, and she left.

At Bill's house, Bill ended a heated phone call with Alison by telling her to let him know the next time Deacon contacted her. Katie, with a drink in hand, was curious about the call. Bill said Deacon had called to ask Alison on a date. According to Bill, Quinn had dumped Deacon, "the parasitic lowlife."

Katie thought that was fast. Bill said Quinn had liked having a dependent because Wyatt was grown. He figured Quinn hadn't wanted to be married; she'd just wanted to say that she'd been married before. Katie wondered if Deacon had cheated. Bill said Deacon hadn't unless he'd wanted to wake up decapitated. Katie asked if Quinn had cheated. "With a male of what species?" Bill asked.

Later, Bill and Katie were on the sofa. Katie said Bill didn't have to babysit her due to her feelings about Brooke, and Katie had had a wonderful afternoon with Will. He joked that Will didn't yet have his father's magnetism, and Katie quipped that she was thinking of getting a cat. Bill didn't know why she'd want an aloof feline in the house. Katie told him that he was unchanging, like a statue.

Bill said he was thinking of having his sons commission a statue of him for the Spencer lobby. Katie had a feeling Liam would roll his eyes at the idea, and Wyatt would wonder what Bill had done for him lately. Bill admitted that he had to work on his relationship with Wyatt. Bill had been hands-off because he hadn't wanted Wyatt's psycho mother in Bill's business.

Bill stated that Wyatt had done a good job of keeping Quinn's claws in, and Katie wondered if Wyatt's feelings about Deacon were a part of Quinn's decision to leave Deacon. Bill thought Wyatt had good instincts -- except about the women in his life.

Bill believed that finding the right woman was critical for a man. Katie asked about women finding the right men. Bill asserted that a man would go out of his way to be whatever the right woman wanted, and he was proof of it because Katie had made him a better man.

Katie believed it was just as important for a woman and that a person's mate changed them. With Bill, Katie could be confident and forget about the insecure girl she'd been. She admitted things happened that had returned her to being that girl. Citing Brooke, Katie said everyone had seen what a mistake it had been. She'd seen the look Bill had given her about Brooke and asked why he hadn't said anything.

Bill replied that he wanted Katie to have what she wanted, and she knew better than he did about a lot of things. Katie said she didn't always want what was good for her.

At Wyatt's house, Steffy arrived. Wyatt was glad she hadn't been too horrified to return home -- not that his house was her home yet. "Unless you want it to be," he added. She asked if he wanted an answer. Wyatt replied that he was relaying information -- he wanted to spend his life with her.

Steffy admired the way Wyatt jumped in with both feet. Wyatt believed the most important thing a person could learn was what they actually wanted -- not what they'd settle for. He had his own answer for it and asked if she did. Steffy had thought she'd had it, and it was why she was engaged to Liam. Wyatt reasoned that Liam had released her from it, but she said she hadn't released herself.

Wyatt claimed to get that she needed to know what had happened. Steffy said she needed to hear it from Liam, face-to-face, so that she could begin to accept it. Wyatt knew things were happening quickly, and it would be weird for a brokenhearted Steffy to jump into it with him so soon.

Steffy wondered when she'd catch Quinn in the bushes with binoculars. Wyatt swore that Quinn was a changed woman. He said Quinn had left Deacon and gotten herself a nice place in the Canyons. Steffy wondered if Quinn had always been fierce. Wyatt responded that he'd known his mother all his life, but he hadn't known Quinn all of her life.

Later, Steffy wondered if Liam could be dead. Wyatt gasped and said dead people didn't send text messages. She asked if Liam could be sick or hurt. Wyatt understood that Liam's behavior didn't make sense but reasoned that hurt people didn't always make sense.

Steffy asked what Liam had to be hurt about because she hadn't run off with anyone. Wyatt reminded her that she had an offer on the table. Steffy didn't think Liam's actions were personal. To her, it was like Liam had just stopped existing.

At Quinn's cabin, Liam asked Quinn if she were afraid. She said she was -- just not in the way that he thought. She relayed that he didn't understand how their relationship had changed. Liam asked "Eve" to tell him how to act, because he didn't know how it had been before. He might not recall falling in love and getting married, but he somehow knew how it felt without the pictures.

Liam believed Quinn was the reason for it, and he owed her a lot. Quinn cupped his face and told him not to say it. She felt that he was like a child who'd never been hurt before. She recalled that she'd been that way once. He replied that he liked her the way she was, and he told her not to be sad or afraid. The two kissed again, but Liam pulled away.

Liam felt something strange whenever he was close to "Eve." He asked if they'd had a fight or if he'd done something wrong. He wondered if there was some place he was supposed to be. He felt as if there was a promise he'd made, but he wasn't keeping it. Liam was plagued by questions of who could be waiting for him or where he was supposed to be.

Liam asked if he had a calendar. Quinn thought he probably did in his phone -- wherever he'd left it. Liam wondered if they were divorced. It seemed strange there was nothing of him in the house, no photos or closet. Quinn explained that she hadn't moved all their stuff because he'd been sick. He asked why they'd moved. She replied that he'd wanted to be out of the noise and traffic of the city.

It sounded like himself to Liam. Quinn said he was starting to remember himself, and it was in a better way than showing photographs or telling stories she might have made up. Liam joked that he wouldn't know if she programmed him. Quinn admitted that people called her controlling, but she didn't want to be that way anymore. He told her to tell him about her.

Quinn didn't really remember her childhood. Liam assumed she'd had parents, and so she'd had a childhood. Quinn stated that her parents had thought her inconvenience was her most outstanding trait.

Quinn flashed back to being a child and opening the door to her mother's bedroom. Her mother had been inside, making out with some guy who hadn't even known her mother had had children. In the memory, her mother yelled at her for ever entering the room and asked why Quinn was even home. Little Quinn said that her father had dropped her off early. The man decided it was too weird for him, and he stalked out.

Quinn's memory continued as her mother yelled at Quinn to look at what she'd done and wondered how she could have a life with Quinn around. She called Quinn a little witch. Quinn apologized, but her mother asked what good being sorry was and if it put food on the table.

Quinn told Liam that her mother hadn't taken to having children and would call Quinn a little witch. Quinn wiped away tears, adding that her mother would ask her why she'd been born. Liam was sorry for asking Quinn to relive it. Quinn said she'd never told him about it before. She added that she hadn't ever told anyone -- "until now."

Quinn started to say that she could have been a different person, but Liam cut her off to say that he liked the person she was. She noted that he hadn't always. "I married you," he asserted. He believed that they could have a good life. She said it was a nice thought, and she put him back to bed. He thanked for her telling him about her. Quinn kissed his forehead and left the room.

While Quinn was in the other room, someone knocked on the front door and claimed to need a signature for a special delivery. She opened the door but gasped when she saw Deacon at the door. She told him to go away and insisted she wouldn't give him more money.

Deacon said they could take it up in divorce court. Quinn called him a convicted felon, and he called her an unconvicted felon. She instructed him to wait at the door, but he entered anyway as she retrieved her wallet. She shoved money at him and told him that the well was dry.

Deacon hadn't asked for the money but said he'd take it. He asked why they were whispering. Knowingly, he said he was hurt. He asked who the man was.

Quinn retorted that his name was "take the money and go." Deacon made his way across the room. Quinn tried to stop him, but he pushed the bedroom door open and was shocked to see Liam in the bed, sleeping.
